Rachel Lehr
Rachel (Rocky) works in the medium of feltmaking. Her creations range from wearable art to large community installations, with projects such as the collective making of murals and yurts. Rocky became interested in feltmaking, an indigenous and integral part of Central Asian nomadic life, through her studies and travels in that region of the world. She is an award-winning member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and shares her enthusiasm for fiber, culture, and history through teaching and using feltmaking as a vehicle for cooperative learning. Her work with adults and children focuses on developing and strengthening community bonds through the arts and integrating many disciplines through the art of feltmaking. Rocky enjoys working with multi-generational groups and people of various abilities throughout New England. Rocky has recently been involved with the "The Heart of the Silk Road," a two-year initiative of the Arts Alliance of Northern NH, supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
